How Sensory Strategies Work

The SensoryWorks™ multi-sensory room provides a carefully designed, saturated environment filled with calming and organizing inputs. It is a modality to assist with neurologic calm. The sensory room is graded and monitored to provide clients with opportunities that will help them learn to change their level of alertness—a client-centered haven of comfort in a playful, supportive environment.

My experience in the sensory room was fantastic! I have since talked to clients who have also said that one of the highlights in their treatment experience was the sensory room. Some felt that when the impulse to leave treatment was a predominate thought‚ they went into the sensory room and it subsided. I hope the majority of treatment centers will offer this process to their clients. It’s a major therapeutic tool that enhances one’s treatment and recovery.
